Member Organizations

The Oregon Music Teachers Association is a professional nonprofit of independent and collegiate music teachers throughout Oregon. It offers student programs, teacher resources, festivals, auditions, competitions, grants, and workshops. OMTA administers the Syllabus curriculum, certification, and Extended Study of Musicianship & Repertoire (ESMAR). OMTA is affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association and supports teachers through networking, publications such as Oregon Musician, and ongoing professional development.

MTNA is a U.S. professional nonprofit founded in 1876, supporting over 17,000 music teachers across all 50 states. It offers resources including professional certification, competitions, publications, leadership training, and legal/financial advisory services. MTNA’s Foundation Fund provides grants, awards, and commissioning opportunities for composers and teachers.

The Oregon Federation of Music Clubs is the state-level affiliate of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). It supports music education, performance, and appreciation in Oregon through festivals, competitions, student programs, and local club activities. OFMC works with teachers, students, amateurs, and professionals alike to promote performance opportunities, adjudication, and community engagement in music across the state.

Founded in 1898, the National Federation of Music Clubs is a nonprofit organization in the U.S. dedicated to promoting American music, performers, composers, and music education. It supports amateur and professional musicians of all ages via festivals, competitions, programs, outreach, and awards. NFMC has over 90,000 members, hundreds of state and local clubs, and offers scholarships and resources to encourage musical growth nationwide.

Cascadia Composers is a regional chapter of the National Association of Composers, USA (NACUSA), located in the Pacific Northwest (northern Oregon and southern Washington). It is a cooperative community of living composers that promotes and presents new works by regional composers, organizes concerts and events to showcase contemporary classical music, and provides networking and listening opportunities for its members and public audiences.

NACUSA is a national nonprofit organization founded in 1933 by composer Henry Hadley, originally known as the National Association of Composers and Conductors. It promotes the creation, performance, and publication of American concert-hall music through its chapters, annual national contests, concert events, and calls for scores. Membership spans independent composers, students, professionals, and academic composers; chapters host concerts and public showcases of members’ work.

ASCAP is a U.S. nonprofit performing rights organization (PRO) that licenses public performances of its members’ musical works via venues, broadcasters, streaming services, and more. Founded in 1914, it is run by songwriters, composers, and publishers. ASCAP collects license fees for music use, monitors performances, and distributes royalties to its members. It also supports music creators through programs and advocacy.

CFAMC is a nonprofit fellowship of composers who write symphonic, chamber, opera, and other serious concert works from a Christian perspective. Its membership includes professional, academic, avocational, and church composers and supporters. CFAMC holds national and regional conferences, publishes listening pages and devotionals, facilitates spiritual and professional growth, and emphasizes fellowship among members while encouraging musical excellence in art music.
